Responsible forperforming routine patient care duties as directed by and under the supervisionof the Physical Therapist. Performs physical therapy modalities andprocedures in accordance with the treatment plan as determined by the PhysicalTherapist, the State of California Physical Therapy Practice Act, theAmerican Physical Therapy Association Code of Ethics, and HealthCare Partners(HCP) policies and procedures. Also performs general department duties for themaintenance of physical therapy treatment areas, equipment and supplies .
Consistently exhibits behavior and communication skills that demonstrate HealthCare Partners’ (HCP) commitment to superior customer service, including quality, care and concern with each and every internal and external customer.
Maintains an on-time patient appointment schedule in accordance with established department standard for productivity. Alters schedule to meet department or patient needs. Maintains productivity outside of patient schedule.
Assumes responsibility for the care and safety of each patent during treatment.
Documents patient treatments and responses in the physical therapy patient chart. Completes all documentation in an accurate, legible and timely manner.
Reports any and all changes in the patient’s condition to the Physical Therapist as immediacy dictates.
Assists in the orientation and training of new staff members as appropriate.
Performs general department duties for the routine maintenance of clinical and non-clinical areas, equipment and supplies.
Keeps department area clean and orderly.
Assists front office.
Adheres to Universal Precautions at all times.
Adheres to safety policies and procedures at all times.
Uses, protects, and discloses HCP patients’ protected health information (PHI) only in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards.
Performs additional duties as assigned.
1 to 2 years of post-high school education or a degree from a two-year college.
Current CPR certification.
Attendance in post-secondary education with emphasis in the Sciences preferred.
Up to and including 1 year of experience.
Previous patient care experience.
1 year previous patient care experience.
Previous experience in physical therapy.
Knowledge of human anatomy relative to physical therapy.
Knowledge of physical therapy modalities, procedures, theory, techniques and standards.
Ability to communicate and work effectively with patients and co-workers.
Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
