The

Acute Culture/ Water Technician performs duties

within 11 Hospitals throughout the MO and KS area using Company owned

commercial box truck , under the supervision of a BioMed Tech or Facility

Manager in accordance with DaVita and Acute - Hospital Services Facility

policies, procedures, and the DaVita Acute Hospital Services

Programs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

Performs the

disinfection of the DaVita Maintained RO, DI and Portable Water Systems monthly

per policy within Hospitals.

Performs all

scheduled Fresenius K2 machine disinfections monthly per policy.

Disinfects

and draws culture and endotoxin samples of all machines or water systems stored

at the BioMed HUB (including Central RO and independent machine disinfect loop)

and any assigned hospitals.

Draws Water

System and K2 Machine culture and endotoxin samples at least 72 hours prior to

disinfection.

All water

systems and K2 Machine culture and endotoxin samples collected and shipped to

the lab prior to the 15thof each month (exceptions in months with

Holidays in the first two weeks).

Collects

/ post code blue dialysate electrolyte, culture and endotoxin samples and

ship to the DaVita Lab per policy.

Order/Receive

supplies necessary to maintain patient treatment load at participating

hospitals

Creates and

Maintains monthly schedules for culture techs.

Creates and

Maintains Vehicle Service Logs. Oversee update of share point vehicle

tracking site

Creates and

Maintains K2 machine Disinfection Logs for each hospital and the BioMed HUB.

Creates and Maintains RO, DI and Portable Water

System Disinfection Logs for each facility.

PLANNING, COORDINATING, AND ORGANIZING :

The Acute Culture/Water Technician maintains competency skills including the ability to transport patient with diverse cultural backgrounds, identify safety concerns and institute measures to provide safe transportation to the dialysis suite. The Acute Patient Transporter communicates effectively with patients regarding destination and scheduled treatment time, and makes necessary adjustments according to medical condition.

The Acute Patient Transporter will effectively communicate with the patient, Acute Facility personnel and teammates and will use all applicable interactive techniques and telecommunication systems that apply.

The Acute Patient Transporter manages time wisely and consistently applies customer service excellence and safety in all aspects of performance.

QUALITY ASSURANCE :

Daily performance demonstrates that the teammate is committed to service excellence and safety in all aspects of performance.

Daily performance demonstrates that the teammate is committed to regulatory compliance for the Acute Facility, and operating efficiency for the Acute Program.

Attends Acute Facility orientation and mandatory in-services, as required.

Observes Acute Facility policies and procedures for infection control and safety.

Minimum Qulifications :

  • Class E Driver’s License. required
  • Ability to travel throughout the MO and KS area
  • Ability to work “ on call” as needed
  • Lifting requirements 50 -100lbs
  • Must complete and pass a physical
  • DVR Driving Record check required
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. required
  • Warehouse, inventory control experience is highlypreferred
  • Mechanical background is highly preferred
  • Willing to train the right person!!

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or equivalent

Experience in health care environment preferred.

Appropriate interpersonal skills for interacting with peers, patients, physicians and other team members.

BLS Certification
