Responsiblefor performing diagnostic medical ultrasound examinations not requiringconstant supervision of technical details with a comprehensive knowledge ofultrasound examinations.Assumesresponsibilities for designated areas or procedures as required.

Produces diagnostic ultrasound with the ability torecognize visualized anatomy and pathology in all ultrasound modalities.
Selects proper type of equipment (transducers,frequency, Doppler, etc.) as required for each examination.
Consistently demonstrates technical proficiency inproducing diagnostic scans.
Explains procedures and equipment to patients andchecks for understanding.
Ensures that the patient’s needs for privacy andconfidentiality are met and that the patient is physically covered wheneverpossible.
Consistently uses and reinforces proper bodymechanics and appropriate personal protection equipment.
Self-identifies unsafe systems, processes and/orsituations and reports the using the appropriate forms.
Consistently demonstrates knowledge of infectioncontrol standards.
Maintains a clean, neat and safe environment forpatients and staff according to company and department policies.
Assists in the development of new procedures andtechniques as required.
Performs general office duties such as orderingsupplies and equipment as needed.
Ensures that the delivery of services reflectsefficient and effective use of supplies and appropriate utilization ofresources.
Attends and participates in educational programsand shares knowledge with peers.
Adheres to Universal Precautions at all times.
Adheres to safety policies and procedures at alltimes.
Uses, protects, and discloses HCP patients’protected health information (PHI) only in accordance with Health InsurancePortability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards.
Performs additional duties as assigned.
1 to 2 years of post-high school education or adegree from a two-year college.
RDMS registration for multi-disciplinary status.
Graduate of AMA-approved school of Radiological Technology.
Documentation of continuing Ultrasound training.
Certifications in vascular procedures includingcarotid studies preferred.
- Over 3 years and up to and including 5 years ofexperience.
- 3 to 4 years experience post-training.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
Basic Life Support for healthcare providers.
Comprehensive knowledge of human anatomy andultrasound principles.
