OVERVIEW OF POSITION
Responsiblefor providing direct supervision of employees and management of dailydepartmental operations in a given patient care area as well as providingdirect patient care daily under the direction of a clinician or registerednurse. Responsible for performingoperational duties as required under the direction of the site administrator ordesignee.
Consistently exhibits behavior and communicationskills that demonstrate HealthCare Partners’ (HCP) commitment to superiorcustomer service, including quality, care and concern with each and everyinternal and external customer.
Supervises clinical operations of a given patientcare area.
Assists Site Administrator in ensuring compliancein licensing, certification and competencies.
Evaluates nursing competencies and decisionsaccording to current nursing practices.
Functions as a resource and serves as a liaisonbetween administration, clinicians, staff and other departments.
Responds to emergencies within the site.
Participates in Nursing Leadership and Nurse PeerReview as needed.
Identifies and participates in the qualityimprovement projects for the site.
Conducts monthly staff meetings to evaluatedepartmental needs and to communicate operational updates.
Uses, protects, and discloses HCP patients’protected health information (PHI) only in accordance with Health InsurancePortability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards.
Performs additional duties as assigned.
1 or 2 years of post-high school education or adegree from a two-year college.
Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing.
Current California LVN license.
Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers (AHA)or CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer (American Red Cross).
Advanced Life Support certification preferred.
- Over 1 year and up to and including 3 years of experience.
Prior supervisory experience.
Prior ambulatory care experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
Manual dexterity to use/handle equipment andinstruments.
Skilled in phlebotomy and I.V. therapy.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Able to concurrently perform multiple tasks.
