Patient Pathway is on a quest to find the newest member of our Patient Relations Liaison team for Miami , FL.

Patient Pathway is a new rapidly-growing team within DaVita, the nation's largest independent provider of kidney dialysis. As an integral part of this team of individuals, you will serve as a liaison between patients, physicians, hospitals, clinics, and healthcare insurance providers. We seek to utilize your knowledge base in patient education including medical insurance by connecting you face-to-face with our patients, and allowing you to deal effectively with their unique and sometimes difficult situations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

(Education, licenses, certifications, and experience required to fulfill the essential duties, include computer skills as required)

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; some college strongly preferred; Bachelor's degree in related area preferred

  • Minimum of two (2) years’ customer service experience required; healthcare experience with focus on patients preferred

  • Experience in patient registration preferred; knowledge of hospital procedures preferred; knowledge of dialysis a plus.

  • Strong understanding of commercial insurance plans and benefits (PPO, HMO, POS, EPO, Indemnity) as well as Medicare and Medicaid required

  • Intermediate computer skills and proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook required; basic skills in PowerPoint required

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Physical requirements can vary. These must be reviewed with management. However, in general, the position requires the following physical activities:

  • Ability to lift minimum of 1 pound to a maximum of 20 pounds unassisted; ability to perform repetitive standing, sitting, walking, stretching, reaching, and at least moderate range of body motions.

  • Ability to hear and interact by phone and in person clearly and efficiently.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Level III - Moderate noise (examples: business office with computers and printers, light traffic)

No required tasks involve greater exposure to blood, body fluids or tissues than would be encountered by a visitor. Normal risks associated with frequent business travel by plane, train, or car.
