OVERALL JOB PURPOSE
Position is responsible for developing and maintaining business intelligence solutions utilized to support the business analytical and reporting needs. The position will also be responsible for building enterprise analytical solutions. Design and develop complex reports and dashboards to meet business requirements. Build grids, graphs, scorecards, standard reports, and dashboards. Create and/or enhance report objects, metrics, filters, and prompts. Collaborate with solutions analysts and end users to define requirements and reporting specifications and provide technical report assistance. Provide second-line support for users who develop reports on behalf of their departmental colleagues. Validate reporting results against requirements. Troubleshoot and analyze data issues within reports. Work with the data warehouse team and business operational teams to understand data sources and implement new requirements. Ensure optimal end-user performance by establishing and consistently executing overall system performance assessment processes and associated action plans.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain or update business intelligence tools, databases, dashboards, systems, or methods.
Create, update, or maintain metadata (Cognos Framework or Business Objects Universe)
Create business intelligence tools or systems. Assist in design of related databases.
Consulting directly with business users, solutions analysts and decision-makers to gather requirements and define scope. Research and recommend clinical business intelligence applications and frameworks designed to support the mission, vision and values of HealthCare Partners of Nevada.
Perform hands-on development. Design BI applications that leverage all sources of patient data within HealthCare Partners to best profile patients’ quality of care, compliance with treatment plans and risk.
Create and maintain effective, detailed design documentation.
Plans and facilitates meetings. Estimate and plan project deliverables.
Plan and manage deployments.
Coordinate and conduct training and testing for solution analysts and other end-users.
Consistently exhibits behavior and communication skills that demonstrate HealthCare Partners’ (HCP) commitment to superior customer service, including quality, care and concern with each and every internal and external customer.
Familiar with a variety of information systems concepts, practices and procedures.
Uses, protects, and discloses HCP patients’ protected health information (PHI) only in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field
3 years of advanced report writing and data presentation
3 years using business intelligence tools, such as Cognos, Business Objects, Tableau a plus
3 years of Cognos Framework or Business Objects Universe
3 years using BI best practices, methodologies, relational structures, dimensional data modeling, data warehouse and reporting techniques
3 years of data warehouse design (data modeling, ETL and data integration)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence Architecture
Advanced SQL writing skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Visio and PowerPoint.
Knowledge of healthcare application data sources preferred (EMR, Medical Claims/Billing, Medical Billing, Prescription Drug Claims, Lab Results, Case Management, Authorization, Referral, Inpatient Management and Practice Management systems) a plus
Knowledge of healthcare data analysis cores preferred (Utilization, HEDIS, Patient Risk Stratification, Medical Risk Adjustment/HCC Management, Clinical Access)
