DaVita Regional Operations Manager - Patient Pathways in Kansas City Missouri United States

GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: This position manages the implementation and ongoing maintenance of DaVita’s Patient Pathway program. The position implements the Patient Pathway program with new hospital partners, manages Patient Pathway Liaison teammates, and provides regular operating reviews regarding local market performance. This position develops strategies to improve the ESRD patient discharge process as well as builds relationships with the kidney care community.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Yes Position has full supervisory responsibility for recruitment, hiring, retention, performance development, performance management, salary adjustments, and termination of direct reports.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The following duties and responsibilities generally reflect the expectations of this position but are not intended to be all inclusive. Implement DaVita’s Patient Pathway Program

Travel to new program hospital partner locations to initiate the Patient Pathway program

Meet face to face with hospital partners to discuss current discharge processes

Structure, introduce and train hospital partners on the Patient Pathway program

Identify areas of improvement in the discharge process in individual local markets

Conduct regular update check-ins with hospital partners and Patient Pathway management before, during, and after implementation Conduct Local Market Education, Awareness and Strategy

Conduct meet-and-greet training sessions with DaVita operations leadership to introduce Patient Pathways

Update local operations leadership on the progress and impact of the Patient Pathway program

Discuss ongoing strategies for each market with Patient Pathway and field management

Provide leadership to direct reports; coaching, mentoring, training as required or needed

Manage Patient Relations Liaisons within the Patient Pathway program including but not limited to teammate relations, fostering a positive work environment, conducting annual performance and salary reviews, performance management, recruitment, retention, terminations, and related ePCNs

Conduct regular update calls and operating reviews with each direct report

Manage the hiring and onboarding process for Patient Relations Liaisons in assigned territory

Know, understand, implement and follow DaVita Teammate Guidelines and employment policies and procedures Teammate Training

Schedule, organize and conduct new Growth teammate training, including both classroom training and on-site shadowing

Regularly assess training content, making recommendations and modifications when necessary Patient Relations Liaison Coverage Assistance ·

Provide coverage assistance at Patient Pathway partner hospitals as needed (including but not limited to covering during teammate PTO leave or position vacancies) Report on Program ·

Analyze Patient Pathway reports for assigned territory including but not limited to patient volume for each Patient Relations Liaison and length of stay metrics for territory and individual hospitals •

Analyze performance of each market and make recommendations on future action plans based on the analysis ·

Provide management team with monthly updates regarding the above metrics Analyze and Initiate Growth Initiatives

  • Analyze, develop, and implement new ways for the company to differentiate itself in the marketplace

  • Develop in-depth knowledge of the company's service offerings, markets, current market share within individual markets, market competition, and strategies to secure new business

Travel Required: up to 75%

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Education, licenses, certifications, and experience required to fulfill the essential duties, include computer skills as required): ·

High school diploma or equivalent required ·

Bachelor's degree in related area preferred ·

Minimum of two (2) years’ project management and/or project implementation experience required ·

Minimum of one (1) year’s experience demonstrating strong understanding of commercial insurance plans and benefits (PPO, HMO, POS, EPO, Indemnity) as well as government insurance programs (Medicare, Medicaid) required ·

Minimum of two (2) years’ management experience required; remote teammate management experience preferred; healthcare industry management experience preferred ·

Intermediate computer skills and proficiency in MS Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint required

Bachelor's degree in related area preferred ·
