DaVita Supervisor, General Accounting in Federal Way, Washington

GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The purpose of this is

to supervise the preparation of accounting and control activities relating to

leases and fixed assets, including accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly,

annual reporting and analysis as well as implementation and monitoring of

effective controls in accordance with SOX, GAAP, and audits. This teammate is

expected to create and manage a high performing staff, as well as participate

in the development and implementation of lease and fixed assets accounting team

policies and procedures.

This supervisor will be over the recently acquired DMG facilities integrating DMG into Kidney Care processes and procedures, evaluating best practices, and creating new ways of doing things. Candidates should be good with change and moving quickly. Experience coaching. mentoring, and motivating others.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Accounting:

  • Supervise 3-4 teammates responsiblefor general accounting functions and support

  • Responsible for general ledgerfunctions such as journal entry preparation, account analysis andreconciliations

  • Facilitate preparation andreview of monthly close procedures

  • Prepare audit schedules andanswer audit questions

  • Assist with annual budgetpreparation

Reporting / Analytics:

  • Responsible for corporate andfield operations financial reporting

  • Prepare, develop and modifyrecurring and ad-hoc financial schedules and related notes for managementreporting

  • Solid understanding ofaccounting with ability to support and provide recommendations and trainnew teammates

  • Provide reporting to identifyand interpret trends and explain fluctuations.

  • Interact with other departmentsto explain and resolve issues

Process Improvement:

  • Identify, develop and implementefficient and standardized methods for recurring processes and reporting

  • Execute accounting processesand maintain effective internal controls relating to lease operations

  • Identify and investigate datainconsistencies, and system and process opportunities, ensuring theintegrity of data in the general ledger

  • Understand business processesand collaborate with teammates throughout the village to provide solutionsto improve effectiveness/efficiency of processes

  • Address inquiries fromteammates/customers

Leadership:

  • Primary responsibility formanaging all teammate employment activity such as hiring, writing andconducting teammate annual performance reviews

  • Address teammate issues andescalate to Management/People Services as necessary

  • Provide ongoing training,development, coaching, performance management, and opportunities forgrowth

  • Determine staffing plans thatpromote the most effective use of all teammates.

  • Work with leadership toestablish, communicate, and ensure departmental goals and objectives areachieved

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in Business, Accounting or Finance required with 2-4 years related experience and/or training

  • Previous management or supervisory experience, highly preferred

  • Intermediate computer skills and proficiency with MS Office applications, and ability to learn new internal systems and tools.

  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills with ability to probe, question, and listen attentively.

  • Demonstrated project management and/or consultative skills when addressing complex inquiries from teammates, customers, and business partners.

  • Ability to make timely and quality decisions.
