Description

Overview: Under general supervision of the Ultrasound Lead and the Medical Director, the ultrasound technologist employs professional imaging skills to assure quality management of all patients (neonate through geriatric). The responsibilities include, but are not limited to, quality control, ultrasound safety and the adherence to American College of Radiology and/or RDMS guidelines. The position requires excellent positioning, communication, organizational, problem solving and leadership skills.

Schedule:Variable schedule, averaging 24 hours per week

Qualifications

Education/Credentials:

  • Minimum: Graduate of a formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program that is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP).

  • Minimum: Active certification by American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) in the appropriate specialties.

  • Minimum: Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers (through the American Heart Association).

Experience:

  • Preferred: one year of scanning in a clinical/hospital setting.
