Job Summary: Under general supervision of the Ultrasound Lead and the Medical Director, the ultrasound technologist employs professional imaging skills to assure quality management of all patients (neonate through geriatric). The responsibilities include, but are not limited to, quality control, ultrasound safety and the adherence to American College of Radiology and/or ARDMS guidelines. The position requires excellent positioning, communication, organizational, problem solving and leadership skills.

Schedule: This is a part time position with variable hours and schedule.



  • Minimum: Graduate of a formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program that is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP).


  • Minimum: Active certification by American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) in the appropriate specialties.

  • Minimum: Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers (through the American Heart Association).


  • Preferred: One year of scanning in a clinical/hospital setting.

KSAs:Ability toeffectively operate sonographic equipment.Ability to evaluate sonograms in order to acquire appropriate diagnosticinformation. Ability to integrate diagnosticsonograms, laboratory results, patient history and medical records, and adaptsonographic examination as necessary. Ability to use independent judgment toacquire the optimum diagnostic sonographic information in each examinationperformed. Ability to evaluate,synthesize, and communicate diagnostic information to the attending physician. Ability to communicate effectivelywith the patient and the health care team, recognizing the special nature ofsonographic examinations and patient’s needs. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationshipswith the public and health care team. Abilityto follow established departmental procedures. Ability to work efficiently and cope with emergency situations. Emotional and physical healthsufficient to meet the demands of the position.
