Overview:

Under minimal supervision, organizes, manages and directs the operation of the clinic/department, assuring the continuity and quality of patient care by following appropriate clinic/department protocols and the supervision and evaluation of staff.

Essential Functions:

  • Supervise delivery of nursing services and actively works with all members of the department health care team to manage patient care, ensuring quality and safety of nursing care and smooth patient flow within department.

  • Provide regular performance feedback and conduct performance appraisals. Monitor skill development and performance of the staff. Direct work of staff, including supervision, hiring, and terminations; determine staffing needs, and ensure efficient utilization of staff.

  • Develop clinical policy and procedures in conjunction with education and training department. Assist with procedures, protocols and other related written resource materials appropriate specialties under nursing supervisor responsibilities.

  • Meet regularly with management. Perform other duties including assisting in budget preparation and resolving variances, researching and resolving consumer complaints with staff

  • Assist in conducting clinical staff meetings. Researches and resolves clinical quality issues.

  • Consistently exhibits behavior and communication skills that demonstrate DaVita Medical Group's commitment to superior customer service, including quality, care and concern with each and every internal and external customer.

  • Adheres to safety policies and procedures at all times.

  • Uses, protects, and discloses DaVita Medical Group patients’ protected health information (PHI) only in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards.

  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Associates Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. Current RN Washington State licensure and BLS certification required. ONS chemotherapy/biotherapy card. OCN preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of two or three years current Oncology clinical experience required including knowledge of professional theory, chemotherapy/biotherapy administration and practice to give and evaluate patient care. Demonstrated supervisory skills.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Computer literate.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft office applications (Word, Excel).

  • Ability to type 25 wpm.

  • Supervisory skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (may be required).
