$5000 Sign on bonus

Monday- Friday 8-5, averaging 40 hours per week

Overview:

Under general supervision, the ASC Infection Preventionist will evaluate, analyze and manage data to ensure that the ASC Quality program meets clinic quality guidelines. Will objectively identify trends that warrant evaluation or action and facilitate improvement teams to modify processes to improve care. This individual will also collects, analyzes and reports infection data in the ASCs using methods recognized by professional organizations and regulatory agencies; develops and reviews infection control-related policies in the ASCs; educates ASC healthcare workers on policies and interventions to reduce infection risks related to surgical procedures; and leads performance improvement projects.

Qualifications

Knowledge:

Demonstrates knowledge of pertinent regulations and standards. Maintains current knowledge and demonstrates adaptability to changing trends in infection prevention and control.

Skills:

Computer knowledge and experience required including Microsoft office suite (Word, Outlook etc.)

Abilities:

Must be able to communicate effectively and provide education for a variety of audiences including staff and physicians.

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or related healthcare field required; Master degree in health care or related field preferred.

Experience:

Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a clinical setting required; clinical

experience in a surgical or perioperative setting preferred. Minimum of two (2) years infection control experience preferred, with documentation of basic infection control training or

certification in infection control (CIC).

Certificate/License:

Current WA state nursing license. Encouraged to maintain active membership in professional organizations, including the Association of Professionals in Infection Control (APIC), and the Association of perioperative Registered Nurses (AORN). Encouraged to seek national certification in infection control (CIC) from the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology, Inc.
