Overview:

The Staff RN/Consulting Nurse is responsible for providing Telehealth assessment to Primary Care and Urgent Care patients by using telecommunications, information technology and approved protocols; to clients ensuring the efficient use of medical and nursing, facilities and equipment and to provide excellent customer service. Work situations require assessment, decision-making within the framework of established protocols, excellent listening and communication skills, knowledge of computers, critical thinking skills and the nursing process. Internal contacts may include PC providers, Walk in Clinics and the nursing process. External contacts include patients, family, and other healthcare professionals.

SCHEDULE: Average 30 hours per week (0.75 FTE)

Option 1:

Week 1: Tuesday 8-5pm, Wednesday 8-5pm, Friday 11-8pm, Sunday 8-5pm

Week 2: Tuesday 8-5pm, Wednesday 8-5pm, Thursday 10-2, Friday 8-5pm

Option 2:

Week 1: Monday 8-5, Tuesday 8-5, Thursday - 10-2, Friday 8-5pm, Sunday 8-5pm

Week 2: Tuesday 8-5pm, Thursday 8-5pm, Friday 8-5pm

Essential Functions:

  • Consistently exhibits behavior and communication skills that demonstrate DaVita Medical Group's commitment to superior customer service, including quality, care and concern with each and every internal and external customer.

  • Uses, protects, and discloses DaVita Medical Group patients’ protected health information (PHI) only in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards.

  • Performs various simple to moderately complex, comprehensive patient assessments, tests and procedures within the scope of practice of a Registered Nurse

  • Develops an appropriate nursing care plan.

  • Implements a plan of care by performing nursing interventions

  • Performs patient and family teaching.

  • Maintains clinical standards outlined in the clinical operations policies and procedures manual. Identifies deficiencies and recommends changes.

  • Documents and maintains records of medical and nursing procedures.

  • Directs patients to appropriate levels of care and authorizes outside services.

  • Participates in educational programs to enhance nursing knowledge.

  • Adheres to Universal Precautions at all times.

  • Adheres to safety policies and procedures at all times.

  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Minimum: Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing

  • Minimum: Current State RN license.

  • Minimum: Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers through American Heart Association

Experience:

  • Minimum: 1-3 years of experience

  • Preferred: 5 or more years of experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Computer literate.

  • Ability to type 25 wpm.

  • Basic Life Support for healthcare providers.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to concurrently perform multiple tasks.
