Overview:

The Internal Communications Specialist isa key member of our Communications team. He/shewill support the organization’s efforts to inform, align and engage teammatesto carry out the company vision, mission, values, guiding principles, goals andkey organizational initiatives. He/she will develop and implement strategicinternal communications plans including print and digital vehicles, content,and messaging. He/she will research, develop and implementcommunications policies, processes, tools and vehicles to improve teammatecommunications. He/she will build relationships and processes to obtain,develop, and package content to bring our story to life for teammates andcelebrate accomplishments, awards, and milestones on an ongoing basis.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop and/or implement internalcommunications plan(s) to further teammate understanding, alignment, andengagement around mission, vision, values, and guiding principles as well askey organizational goals and initiatives, partnering w/key business partnerssuch as Marketing, People Services, and Operations to ensure clarity andconsistency across the organization.

  • Gather content to write andedit a wide variety of complex messages/communication pieces for a variety ofaudiences including leadership communications to teammates, and weekly/bi-weeklynews digests.

  • Managecommunications mailbox and cadence of daily communications as well as relatedmetrics.

  • Represent our teamin cross-market and enterprise-wide activities, and build relationships toshare and leverage best practices.

  • Workin collaboration with in-house agency, video team, other communicationsteammates, and freelance talents for communication projects.

  • Build and/or implement communications plans,campaigns, and related messaging (e.g., emails, talking points, presentations, FAQs,video scripts) for varied initiatives.

  • Adhere to brand and style guide standards.

  • Managemulti-way teammate feedback.

  • Use, safeguard, and disclose patients’protected health information (PHI) only in accordance with Health InsurancePortability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards.

  • Perform additionalduties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’sdegree from a four-year college and/or a professional certification requiringformal education beyond a two-year college.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, PublicRelations, Journalism, English, or related field is preferred.

Experience:

Minimum:

  • Morethan 2 years and up to and including 7 years of related experience.

Preferred:

  • Atleast 2 years corporate communications experience w/emphasis in internalcommunications is preferred.

  • Experiencein healthcare is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Aproven ability to develop and implement strategic communications plans,vehicles, media, and messaging.

  • Excellentwriting and editing skills with the ability to translate corporate strategyinto compelling, credible communications for a variety of media/vehicles andaudiences.

  • Must sharewriting samples for corporate/internal communication.

  • Broad experience in deployingcommunications best practices and using internal communications channels.

  • New media savvy—knowledge/interest inexploring new channels and/or opportunities to bring internal content to life.

  • Excellentinterpersonal, organizational, project management, and client relation skillsas well as the ability to independently manage projects and deadlines.

  • Detailand process oriented yet flexible enough to adapt to and accommodate change ina fast-paced environment.

  • Computer-literatewith Microsoft Office program skills.

  • Experiencecreating content for company intranets; Content Management System experience isa plus.

  • Familiaritywith email delivery platforms is a plus.

  • Familiaritywith AP style is a plus.
