Responsible for the design, development, implementation and support of business intelligence solutions utilized to support the business analytical and reporting needs. The position will also be responsible for building enterprise analytical solutions. Design and develop complex reports and dashboards to meet business requirements. Build scorecards, dashboards, ad hoc and standard reports. Create and/or enhance report objects, metrics, filters, and prompts. Collaborate with solutions analysts and end users to define requirements and reporting specifications and provide technical report assistance. Provide second-line support for users who develop reports on behalf of their departmental colleagues. Validate reporting results against requirements. Troubleshoot and analyze data issues within reports. Work with the data warehouse team and business operational teams to understand data sources and implement new requirements. Ensure optimal end-user performance by establishing and consistently executing overall system performance assessment processes and associated action plans.

Essential Functions:

  • Focused on identifying solutions to business problems and needs, very knowledgeable across products, customer facing in recommending solutions, expert in data analysis, and extremely independent.

  • Creates, maintains and updates business intelligence solutions, databases, dashboards, or methods.

  • Consulting directly with business users, solutions analysts and decision-makers to gather requirements and define scope.

  • Researches and recommends clinical business intelligence solutions and frameworks designed to support the mission, vision and values of HealthCare Partners’ (HCP).

  • Use data mining, model building, other analytical techniques to develop and maintain customer segmentation and predictive models to drive the business.

  • Creates and maintains effective, detailed design documentation.

  • Plans and facilitates meetings. Estimates and plans project deliverables.

  • Coordinates and conducts training and testing for solution analysts and other end-users.

  • Identifies critical areas of the data structure and recommends improvements to existing reports and reporting processes.

  • Develops and implements analytical approaches for identifying variation in practice patterns by region and provider.

  • Develops and implements methods of evaluating outcomes and costs of any changes implemented in the delivery of services.

  • Designs and implements evaluation studies to determine the comparative outcomes and costs of special programs implemented by HCP to deliver medical services.

  • Develops recommendations to management concerning the cost-effectiveness of these programs and the potential for further implementation at HCP.



  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field.



  • 4 or more years of analytical, financial, research program evaluation experience (2 years of which are substitutable by a graduate degree).

  • 3 years of advanced report writing and data presentation.

  • 3 years using business intelligence tools, such as Microsoft SQL Server Business Intelligence Studio, IBM Cognos, SAP Business Objects, Tableau a plus.

  • 3 years using BI best practices, methodologies, relational structures, dimensional data modeling, data warehouse and reporting techniques.


  • 2 or more years experience in a managed healthcare organization.
