DaVita Medical Group manages and operates medical groups and affiliated physician networks in California, Nevada, New Mexico, Florida, Colorado and Washington in its pursuit to deliver excellent-quality health care in a dignified and compassionate manner. As of June 30, 2016 DaVita Medical Group (formerly HealthCare Partners) provided integrated care management for approximately 760,000 patients. We are currently seeking a seasoned Senior Vice President within DaVita Medical Group to help lead our energetic, creative and motivated Transformation Team, also known as Catalyst. The SVP will work in close partnership with two other SVPs to lead a national, high-caliber 50 person internal consulting team engaged in high-visibility and high-value strategic and operational projects inside and outside DaVita Medical Group. The SVP will play a role in continually evaluating and defining the team’s strategic direction and areas of engagement. The SVP will identify and develop strategic growth opportunities, monitor performance, and works closely with senior leadership to develop competitive strategies in alignment with DaVita’s mission and values. This position involves significant senior executive exposure including exposure to DaVita Medical Group’s CEO and COO and the potential to contribute to other meaningful enterprise-level strategy questions.

Catalyst projects are largely focused on helping partners succeed in value-based care. Some of the team’s current projects include:

  • Building value-based care capabilities including, but not limited to:

  • High-risk and complex care management programs

  • Transition of care programs

  • Readmission reduction programs

  • House calls and other post-hospitalization solutions

  • Clinically Integrated Network

  • Physician incentive programs

  • Best practice comprehensive health assessment programs

  • Reporting and analytics

  • Leading market clinical/operational performance improvement efforts

  • Minimum: Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college and/or a professional certification requiring formal education beyond a two-year college.

  • Preferred: Master’s degree.


  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred; MBA strongly preferred

  • 6 to 8 years of management experience in healthcare or management consulting experience in healthcare.

  • Preferred Medical group, IPA or health plan operations management experience.

  • Minimum of 10 years’ progressive management experience required

  • Healthcare provider operating experience strongly preferred; similar provider services experience preferred

  • Demonstrated track record of successful fiscal and operating management; demonstrated financial expertise

  • Demonstrated experience in planning and managing at strategic and operational levels

  • Demonstrated experience in successful change management strategies

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Computer literate.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

  • Ability to type 25 wpm.

  • Demonstrated effective management abilities.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work cooperatively with peers and subordinates.

  • Ability to act professionally under pressure.

  • Results-oriented.
