This managerial position willlead a team responsible for supporting DaVita Medical Group to measure andevaluate risk to determine future opportunity. The core actuarial functions forthis team include, provider contracting, forecasting and identifying trenddrivers. Additional responsibilities include management reporting, strategysupport, financial data remodeling, and other ad hoc projects.
Responsible for completion ofprojects on a timely basis with accuracy, quality, and efficient use ofresources.
Maintains focus on keyobjectives and manages unit work flow to accomplish completion of complexactuarial projects, removing obstacles as necessary.
Actively communicates withmanagement on project status, concerns, need for assistance in terms ofdirection and resources, etc.
Delivers several projectsconcurrently and adjusts to changing priorities.
Accepts accountability forprojects and follows-up on status.
Reviews work product producedby staff, and focuses on effective methods of presentation and communication ofresults.
Employs delegation skills to ensure all staff members aremaking meaningful contributions and advancing in assuming responsibilities.
Takesownership of the development, maintenance, enhancement, and documentation ofactuarial tools and techniques required for project or production work
Issue Actuarial Opinionsrelated to pricing, health plan contracts, and network contract rates.
Ensure compliance with allActuarial Statements of Principles and Standards of Practice
Collaborate with fellow teammembers as well as build productive cross-functional relationships withinmultiple areas of the organization
Bachelor's degree in actuarialscience, mathematics, or a related field is required.
5 years of relevant actuarialexperience working in the health insurance industry.
1 year of lead experience.
Microsoft Excel experience.
SQL programming knowledge.
Experience in MedicareAdvantage, Medicaid, and/or Commercial pricing
Effective communication ofactuarial pricing concepts and financial returns on product offerings
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to handle multiple toppriorities accurately and in a timely manner, and the ability to changepriorities as needed.
Ability to apply principles oflogical thinking to define problems, collect data, identify trends and drawconclusions.
Excellent oral and written communication skills,with the ability to communicate actuarial concepts and conclusions to non-technicalaudiences.
