Reporting to the Sr. Director, NationalCompliance, this position is responsible for directing the Programmatic aspectsof DaVita Medical Group’s National Compliance Program. Particular areas offocus are likely to include compliance training, policies, exclusion screening,communications, and investigations. Areas of expertise should include thefederal Anti-Kickback Statute, False Claims Act, and other laws and regulationsrelated to healthcare compliance.

Essential Functions:

The following dutiesand responsibilities generally reflect the expectations of this position butare not intended to be all-inclusive.

  • Supporting day-to-daycompliance matters and policy questions that arise via our compliance email boxand other avenues;

  • Maintaining anddeveloping national compliance policies and procedures including support ofoperational implementation (as needed);

  • Creating andimplementing an national compliance training program including oversight ofcontent creation, trainee enrollment, tracking, reporting and correctiveaction;

  • Coordinating withBoard Compliance Advisor’s annual review of compliance program,;

  • Leading travel &entertainment expense monitoring program;

  • Developing responsesto compliance questionnaires received from payers and to comply with theDeficit Reduction Act;

  • Leading the teamresponsible for DaVita’s exclusion screening process;

  • Partnering withcommercial and government contracting on compliance language in contracts;

  • Managing the trackingand reporting of corrective action across the compliance department;

  • Supports Sr. ComplianceDirector with creation of Management Compliance Committee and Board ComplianceCommittee materials and presentations;

  • Understands anddocuments key processes, programs and initiatives.

  • Prepares and deliverseducation for teammates on compliance initiatives and policies

  • Implements documentmanagement and tracking systems as needed

  • Responds to, oroversees responses to, compliance-related inquiries

  • Manages complianceprojects, programs, and processes and reports progress to compliance and seniorleadership

  • Lead complianceinitiatives and activities, including regular meetings with stakeholderleadership, legal, and external sources

  • Partners with otherdirectors in compliance & leadership to manage larger compliance team

  • Represents complianceat various business leadership meetings

  • Assists complianceleadership in annual risk assessment and help drive resource prioritization forthe entire department

  • Travel required: Minimal



Education, licenses,certifications, and experience required to fulfill the essential duties,include computer skills as required.

  • Bachelor’sdegree

Experience & Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Minimum of 8 years’experience as a legal or compliance professional responsible for thedevelopment, implementation and/or sustaining of an effective complianceprogram;

  • Minimum of 2 years’experience in healthcare dealing with federal healthcare program lawsincluding, but not limited to Anti-Kickback Statute, False Claims Act and CivilMonetary Penalty Law and CMS regulations

  • People managementexperience

  • Demonstrated projectmanagement experience required

  • Prefer priorexperience with legal/regulatory advice to healthcare providers

  • Prefer priorexperience with conducting compliance investigations

  • Prefer priorexperience working under a CIA/DPA or advising clients related to CIA/DPArequirements

  • Extensive knowledgeof federal fraud and abuse laws required

  • Demonstrated abilityto present and communicate effectively with executive management, functionalleaders, and field employees

  • Experiencesupervising work performed by outside vendors and contractors

  • Superior drafting andcommunication skills required

  • Proven track recordof collaborative problem solving with senior management and business leaders toachieve business goals

  • Excellent computerskills and proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

  • Experience withmanaging data analytics projects
