Summary: Responsible for theoverall operation of the medical practice, to include assessing patientrelations and support, asset and liability management, personnel and humanrelation functions, physician administrative support and compliance withfederal, state, MVMG and medical practice policies and procedures.

Essential Duties andResponsibilities include the following, other duties may be assigned:

  • Direct and Coordinate various personnel functions including but not limited to hiring, performance appraisals, promotions, transfers and vacation schedules; Coordinates the training for new personnel.

  • Maintain comprehensive knowledgeof coding, claims processing and third party payers.

  • Responsible for effective management of medicalrecord functions.

  • Maintain knowledge of accountingfunctions.

  • Develop, implement, and maintain abudget for the practice.

  • Monitor, verify and reconcile expenditure of budgeted funds in conjunction with Lead Physician.

  • Establish a plan for collectingpatient balances specific to site.

  • Utilize effective staffingpatterns with minimal use of temporary support.

  • Establish schedules, taskassignments and allocate manpower space and equipment to ensure effectivepatient care.

  • Interact respectfully and courteously with all patients, visitors, and colleagues.

  • Act as role model to staff for quality patent relationsand customer service.

  • Recognize emergency situations andimmediately notify proper personnel.

  • Ensure staff is aware of properprocedures and protocols related to safety and security and follow these consistently.

  • Act as information source for patients andstaff.

  • Address andresolve conflicts with staff and patients in a positive, professional, andrespectful manner. Ensure lead physician is kept informed of outcomes.

  • Develop quality improvementbenchmarks for hiring and retention of staff.

  • Monitor staff development goalsand training in order to promote retention and growth.

  • Implement staff developmentmetrics for identifying problems, solutions and follow-up.

  • Provide patient education andcommunity referral information.

  • Assess the need for a marketingplan for the practice.

  • Demonstrate true leadership skills and promotemutual respect, tact, team building and cooperation among teammates and Providers.

  • Conduct regular monthly meeting with teammates and providersand hold teammates debriefing sessions to assess teammate customer serviceenvironment with the goal of improving customer satisfaction.

  • Assist new and existing teammates whenever needed withoutbeing asked.

  • Foster good communication between front andback office to facilitate patient flow and care.

  • Actively support and incorporate theGroup’s purpose and vision into daily activities. Promote an environment thatembodies the core values of excellence through compassion.

  • Maintain confidentiality of all informationrelated to teammates and patients. Collect, safeguard and share confidentialinformation in accordance with the Health Information Portability andAccountability Act policies and procedures as outlined in the EmployeeHandbook.

  • Demonstrate service excellence and positiveinterpersonal relations in dealing with others, including patients, coworkers,management, and companies and individuals outside of the Group, so that productivityand positive relations are maximized.

  • Support Patient-Centered Medical Home by participating in team efforts and carrying outfunctions and tasks delegated by the Lead Physician.

  • B.A. or B.S. withemphasis in healthcare, management, business or other related field or at least 2 years of medical practice management experience or combination of education and experience.

  • Advanced credentialing experience working with web based credentialingsystems preferred.

  • Understanding of HIPAARegulations,businessand clinical operations andbasic marketing skills in a cost-effective manner.

  • Medical terminology required.

Computer Skills:

  • Computerskills with intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel and otherMicrosoftOffice software.

  • Advancedknowledge of computerized medical practice management software,withEMR preferred. These programs to include patient demographics, patientschedulingand patient accounts management.
