Responsible for performing MRI crosssectional imaging and other related procedures as directed by licensed physician. The MRI Technician operates and monitors MRIequipment that utilized strong magnets and radio waved to create bodyimages. May assist in other areas asrequested. Adheres to policies, procedures and regulations toensure compliance and patient safety. Participation in Compliance andother important training is a condition of employment.

Essential Functions:

  • Consistently exhibits behavior and communication skills that demonstrate DaVita Medical Group's commitment to superior customer service, including quality, care and concern with each and every internal and external customer.

  • Uses, protects, and discloses DaVita Medical Group patients' protected health information (PHI) only in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards.

  • Responsiblefor performing MRI cross sectional imaging and other related procedures asdirected by a licensed physician.Operates and monitors MRI equipment, program the machine to the propervoltage, current and desired exposure tie as dictated by physician.

  • Explainstesting procedures to patient. Positions and instruct the patient about thepreparation for the MRI test. Assigns and/or delegates duties to theappropriate qualified and/or licensed technologist.

  • Monitorsthe patient’s condition before and after scan to ensure patient safety andcomfort. Administers contrast media accurately under direction of Radiologistboth manually and with pressure injector.

  • Prioritizesworkload based on departmental needs and follow through in a timelymanner.Attends and participates inprofessional meetings. Maintains credentialing and/or licensures.

  • Responsiblein enforcing magnetic field safety for MRI patients, operator and visitors.Monitors and maintains the safety concerning the magnetic field at all times.Maintain patient log, equipment service manual, delivery schedule and allrelated statistics.

  • Deliversquality patient care and services in accordance with regulated standards.Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA guidelines.

  • Performs additional duties as assigned.



  • Required- Associate Degree in Radiologic Sciences or equivalentPreferred – Bachelor of Science Degree

  • ARRT Certification and Current BLSCertification,


  • Required-One (1) yearexperience as MRI Tech in clinic or hospital environment.Preferred – Two (2) years’ experience as MRI Tech

  • Ability to communicate effectively, ability toprioritize workflow and function independently .
