DaVita RVT Sonographer - Fulltime in Albany, Georgia

This is a Full-time Monday through Friday , day-shift position. We are seeking a RVT Sonographer position in our Albany, GA vascular access center.

This position operates sonographic equipment to perform diagnostic examinations and communicates results to interpreting physician. This position manages the daily operations of the sonographic area, patient scheduling, equipment maintenance, reporting of equipment failures, and quality assessments (QA).

Perform clinical assessment and requested sonographic examinations as ordered by physician including but not limited to upper extremity vein mapping for dialysis access

Perform preliminary reports and communicate findings to the appropriate physician according to established procedures

Monitor and ensure the safety, mental, and physical comfort of patient during diagnostic examinations

Perform related clerical duties as required

Maintain ultrasound equipment, appropriate work area, and adequate supplies proactively

Provide in-service education on requirements of sonograhic procedures as requested by other members of the healthcare team

Participate in community education activities regarding access center

Other duties and responsibilities as assigned including but not limited to:

o Work overtime with little or no notice as needed

o Work in other Lifeline centers as needed

o Attend team meetings, phone conferences, and training as needed

o Know, understand, and follow teammate guidelines, employment policies, and department or company procedures

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree preferred

  • Degree or certification from Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program or Cardiovascular Technology Program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) required

  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in diagnostic medical sonography or vascular technology preferred

  • American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) certification required

  • Credentialing as a Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) preferred

  • Credentialing as a Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) preferred

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred

  • Basic computer skills and proficiency in MS Word and Outlook required; basic proficiency in electronic medical records (RIS/PACS) systems required
